A Family Legacy, a Future Secured

Where Pancakes, Faith, and Dreams Come Together
The journey to homeownership is different for everyone, and for Miguel and Yanilette, it led them over 2,000 miles to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
After experiencing the cold, snowy winters in Rochester, New York, the family longed for a climate more like their native Puerto Rico. “We wanted to get away from the cold,” Miguel explains. With their two daughters, they found the perfect fit in Tulsa, a city with all four seasons and less snow.

Morgan’s motivation to buy a home was simple: “My daughter. Just wanting to be financially independent and set her up for generational wealth.”
Yard, Movies, and Memories
Theresa took advantage of our homebuyer education classes to not only improve her own financial habits, but also to inspire her younger family members and friends to start working on their credit and saving for their own homes. As she put it, “It took me 53 years. Come on, y’all can do it.”

A Porch to Dream On
Melissa has spent her career shaping young minds. As a teacher—and as a mother of two grown sons, she knows what it means to show up with patience, resilience, and heart. Homeownership, however, always felt just out of reach. That changed when Education Begins with Home, a partnership between Tulsa Public Schools and Habitat for Humanity, opened a door she hadn’t realized was possible.
A Place of Stability
With determination and a strong support system, Cristina completed the program in a year and a half. She is most excited to build new routines in a safe, stable home where her daughter can thrive. She dreams of hanging a swing in the front tree and watching her little one play freely and safely.

From Library Stacks to Front Porch

To her, Home means “having a place to return to feel grounded.”
