How we make homeownership affordable
How to apply for our Homebuyer Program
Meet our recent Wagoner homebuyers, Demitri and Sydney — a young couple starting a new life with Habitat for Humanity.
Demitri works as a welder and Sydney as a certified nursing assistant, and after outgrowing their one-bedroom apartment, they dreamed of a bigger home with room to grow. With encouragement from Demitri's mother, they joined Habitat's Homebuyer Program and set their sights on Wagoner.
"I'm a country boy, I just love being in the country," said Demitri.
Now settled into their new home, their advice to future homebuyers is simple: save money now, be patient, and stay committed.
Congratulations, Demitri and Sydney — and thank you to Tulsa Teachers Credit Union for helping make it possible!
Why Buy a Habitat Home?
For many families, the fastest way to financial stability and generational wealth starts with homeownership. Unfortunately, families today are being priced out of homeownership due to no fault of their own. At Green Country Habitat for Humanity, we bridge that gap buy working with homeowners, lenders, and other organizations to help families buy a home that fits their budget. By providing affordable mortgages, forgivable downpayment assistance, and financial education, we’re giving hardworking families a hand up, not a hand out.
