When Encouragement Becomes a Front Door

As mother of three and a mental health technician, Carmesha has spent years helping others find stability — and now she’s created that same foundation for her own family through Green Country Habitat for Humanity.

With encouragement from her mom and guidance from Habitat’s Homeowner Services team, Carmesha turned her dream of homeownership into reality.

“She was like, ‘Just try. Just try and see.’ … I didn’t think I was going to be able to proceed with the homeowner program, but I’m here now.”

Now, she’s ready to settle in, cook for her family, and host holiday gatherings in a home that’s truly her own.
