Generations of Hope Under One Roof

Welcome home, Omri – a Tulsa native, devoted mother of two, and the only Accounts Receivable Specialist at Community Care, who’s turning her dream of homeownership into a legacy for her family.

For Omri, the dream began years ago when she watched her mother become a Habitat homeowner. Seeing her mother’s determination and pride through the process inspired Omri to believe that she could do it too.

“She was my inspiration for getting into the program,” Omri said. “I saw her work for it, and it made me realize it was doable. That inspired me to go ahead and do it as well.”

Throughout the process, Omri found strong support in Habitat’s Homeowner Services team, especially her coordinator, Abby.

“From day one, we kind of formed a bond,” Omri shared. “I could tell Abby actually cared as soon as we met and talked about my goals and what I wanted to do.”

The classes, she said, were another vital part of her journey.

“They were very helpful and much needed,” she explained. “A lot of people don’t go to those classes, so they don’t understand things like credit or buying a house. I learned so much that will help me beyond this home.”

Omri’s two daughters, nine-year-old Kason and six-year-old Delaney, are thrilled about their new home, as well.

Kason loves that she and her sister have their own sides of the room, while Delaney adores the living room, the garage, and especially the “Welcome” sign by the door.

For Omri, her favorite part of the home is what it represents.

“My favorite thing about the house is that it’s a stepping stone to the rest of our lives,” she said. “It’s a legacy I can keep for my children for years to come.”

Looking ahead, Omri is most excited to fill the house with laughter, love, and memories.

“I love hosting and making memories,” she smiled. “That’s what I’m looking forward to the most — making this house a home.”

Her advice to future homebuyers?

“Stick with it,” Omri said. “The longer you stick with it and have the mindset that this is what you want, you’ll get it.”
